About the Book
Knightstar was originally published back in 2017 when it was self-published by its author James Martin. The first draft of the Knightstar story was originally called “Phoenix: Birth of a Hero,” but after seeing numerous characters called Phoenix, the name was changed to Knightstar, and the subtitle was dropped. Oliver Mitchell (who was originally called David Mitchell) originally gained his superpowers when he went on a school trip to see a space probe return to Earth. When the probe crashed it spilled the super-powered meteorite that it had collected on its mission, which Oliver later found.

The author wrote the first draft, but felt like there was something missing. After it was shelved, the idea of the main character battling within himself as to whether to be the superhero or the supervillain was found to be the missing piece. The story was re-written and Knightstar as we know it was born and published. Knightstar was re-published by the author’s own publishing company, CapeStar, and was released in December 2021.

So, what about the future of Knightstar? Well, Knightstar is going to be a book series with seven books in total. The stakes will get higher, the action will get more intense, and the adventure will continue. Simply put, the Knightstar series will be ... super.
