FAQ
What is Knightstar about?
Knightstar is a young adult/teen book about a teenager named Oliver Mitchell, who gets accidentally infected with the superpowers of a long-dead supervillain called Nero. He finds himself linked to the supervillain and the superpowers bring out Oliver’s evil side. Oliver’s creates the alter-ego and costume and becomes Knightstar. He wreaks havoc on the city and aims to tear down the social fabric of the city and to create a new world order for Nero’s resurrection. He then encounters a family with superpowers and the father uses his telepathy to expose Oliver to all the hurt he has caused. So, what does Oliver do? Will he become the superhero the city needs or the most dangerous supervillain of all time?
Are there going to be any more books?
Yes! We’re excited to say that Knightstar will be a seven-book series. The only one available so far is Knightstar. Watch this space for more information about when the next one will be out.

Where did you get the idea for the Knightstar books?
I’ve always loved a good, pacey book and I’ve always loved superheroes, so it seemed natural to put them together. I originally wrote Knightstar, but I didn't think there was enough meat on the bones. It was shelved for a long time and then I had a brainwave 'what if the superpowers turned a person evil?' A redemption arc may be interesting and to add a bit of darkness to the story would (hopefully) make it stand out some more. The idea had evolved over time and after many, many drafts and re-writes, Knightstar was finally born.
Do you know where the series is heading?
I do like to plan out the books as much as possible so I roughly know where the series is going and how it will end(!).

Are the characters and places in the book based on anyone/any place in particular?
I do try to create purely fictional characters, but there is no doubt that real-life experiences creep in. I guess the main character of Oliver Mitchell is based on a younger version of myself. He gets on with most people, but is really shy, much like I was at school.

The story is based in the fictional city of Keldon, so I’m not bound by the real-life facts about that city. It’s not based on any city in particular but may take some inspiration from built-up metropolitan cities.

Uh-oh, I found a mistake in the book?
Whilst every effort was made to avoid errors, sometimes they are inevitable. If you do spot one, send me a DM on my social media.
